Robert Richman

Summary of Experience

Robert S. Richman concentrates his legal practice in insurance defense litigation and has tried numerous cases to verdict in both the state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania. He has represented national and multi-national corporations, insurance carriers, third-party administrators, the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Mr. Richman has handled matters from the trial level through the appellate process, including before Pennsylvania’s two intermediate appellate courts, the Superior Court and the Commonwealth Court, as well as before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Mr. Richman has extensive experience in medico-legal matters such as fatal, catastrophic, and chronic medical injury claims. In 2007, Mr. Richman successfully litigated Knechtel v. W.C.A.B. (Marriott Corporation) before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court which safeguards the integrity of independent medical evaluations conducted on behalf of Defendants.

Education

Mr. Richman graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law with a Juris Doctor in 2001. While in law school, Mr. Richman served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Law and Commerce. Prior to law school, Mr. Richman graduated from the American University in Washington D.C. in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He is admitted to practice before all Pennsylvania state courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
